£75K RENOVATION: Church in Rickmansworth unveils new community facilities

Published on: 21st September 2021   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

A £75,000 renovation of Mill End Baptist Church was completed at the start of September, after months of hard work to replace the outdated facilities.

Leader of Three Rivers Council, councillor Sarah Nelmes pronounced the opening on Sunday, September 5 and congratulated the church on being a haven in the community.

Geoff Hawkings, a church member who managed the project said: “We are delighted to welcome anybody from the community to make use of our new shower and toilet facilities.”

The new facilities are not the only change at the church. On the same day the upgraded facilities were unveiled, an induction service for the new Pastor, Reverend James Findlow took place.

The original toilets had been at the Church since it was constructed in 1962, and the upgraded facilities have been gratefully received by the community. The upgrade was partly funded by grants from HS2, All Churches Trust, Bernard Sunley Foundation, and The Hobson Charity as well as church fundraising activities.
