Watford FC have confirmed that they have parted company with manager Vladimir Ivic, despite the Hornets sitting in the play-off positions in the Championship.
The sacking comes after a 2-0 defeat against Huddersfield away from home, which leaves the Hornets nine points behind league leaders Norwich City.
Despite a mixed start to December, Vladimir Ivic was recently named as November’s Manager of the Month after an unbeaten month saw them climb the table.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Watford FC confirms the departure of head coach Vladimir Ivić with immediate effect.
Ivic’s coaching staff will also be leaving Vicarage Road.
“The Hornets thank Ivić and his staff for their efforts this season and wish them well for future success elsewhere.”
Ivic becomes the fifth manager to leave the club since January 2018, and the search for the next manager continues with Slaven Bilic, Eddie Howe and Paul Cook among the favourites to takeover.
