A Facebook group and in-depth website has been created to oppose Hertsmere borough Council’s (HBC) Local Plan proposal.
The proposed Local Plan lays out HBC’s goal of adding more than 1,000 homes to Radlett and Aldenham parish in the next 15 years, many of which would be on green belt land.
More than 1,200 comments and views have been submitted so far, with the period still ongoing until December 6.
Some residents have gone a step further by setting up the Save Radlett Facebook and web page, which aim to give residents reasons to object and show them how they can do so.
As the engagement period for comments on Hertsmere’s draft Local Plan continues, HBC has moved to ensure residents that the final plan “will reflect any formal changes to government policy when announced”.
HBC’s portfolio holder for planning, councillor Dr Harvey Cohen, said: “Obviously we’re delighted with the number of responses we’ve received so far, and we want to keep them coming.”
