Pinner-based councillor, former Hatch End ward councillor and mayoral candidate Susan Hall has used her turmoil following an alleged pickpocketing incident to slam Mayor Sadiq Khan’s lack of police funding.
Speaking to Nick Ferrari on LBC Radio on November 28, mayoral candidate Cllr Hall said: “I have to tell you, I’m the luckiest woman in the world.”
Cllr Hall was travelling from Westminster, back to Pinner, using the Jubilee, then the Metropolitan Line. It was only when she reached Pinner Station that she realised what had occurred.
She told the LBC host: “I just did a normal journey and the same thing with lots of people who get pickpocketed, you get to the end of your journey and realise you don’t have your oyster.”
Cllr Hall recalls the carriage not being particularly busy, but that a man was beside her was fidgeting. Despite the deep pockets of her winter coat, Cllr Hall presumes that this is when the alleged pickpocketing incident occurred.
After explaining what had happened, she then went on to criticise Mayor Khan and his lack of police funding, promising an extra £200 million for policing if she is elected the next mayor.
In spite of being a mayoral candidate for the next election, Cllr Hall is often facing controversy online.
She has been at the forefront of several incidents, including tweeting that TOWIE star Gemma Collins was a ‘stupid, fat, blonde woman’, and often slating Mayor Khan, calling him a ‘Labour traitor rat’ and ‘our nipple high mayor of Londonistan.’
Mayor Sadiq Khan has been contacted for comment.
