PETROL PANIC: Stations in Hemel Hempstead overwhelmed by drivers getting fuel

Published on: 24th September 2021   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

A petrol station in Hemel Hempstead has closed due to the national panic after BP, Tesco and Esso warned of a lack of fuel at some of their forecourts as a result of the HGV driver shortage.

Tesco petrol station at Jarman Way has stopped serving customers, while Esso in Everest Way and Shell in Queensway (pictured) have been overwhelmed by drivers looking to fill their tanks.

Queues at both the Esso and Shell petrol stations have been backing out onto the main roads.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has assured the country that there is plenty of petrol to go around.

AA president Edmund King also said that most forecourts across the country are operating as normal.
