An Abbots Langley theatre group is set to return to the stage for the debut of their new play written by one of their long-standing members.
The Centralian Players, who have been performing in the village for more than 20 years, will return to the Henderson Hub this April for original play Only 79.
Written by resident Steve Barker, the play tells the story of Val who lives alone with only her cat for company.
Speaking to ABBOTSNEWS, Steve said: “We have a brilliant cast who have really thrown themselves into this play and are excited to be back on stage and show the result of six months of rehearsals.
“The cast is headed up by two Centralian stalwarts, Wendy Gardner and Wendy Read, real life sisters-in-law who have each been acting for 60 years.”
Donations from the performance will go to the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital which holds a special place in the members’ hearts.
The play will be running from April 7-9.
