The Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club are asking residents to help them raise enough money to send four of their youth teams to a national competition.
Club coach Ben Peat has entered their Under 12 and Under 14 teams into Indoor Hockey UK’s 2021 Championships at the Copper Box Arena at the Olympic Park this December, but vital funds are needed to ensure the kids are able to compete.
On their fundraising page, the club said: “It’s an amazing opportunity for children to compete in these championships, but to get there we need to raise £800 in entry fees alone.
“In addition, we want to prepare the children for the competition, so we need to hire an indoor venue to practice.
“To make this possible, the youth section will be working hard to raise funds in various ways; car washes, bake and coffee sales, auctions and sponsored walks to name a few.
“Please dig deep and give whatever you can to make this amazing opportunity become a reality.”
