A new multi-space building opened at Harrow Arts Centre (HAC) in Pinner last month.
The two-storey building, designed by Chris Dyson Architects, contains multiple studios for dance, theatre, fitness classes and other activities, as well as a space to hire for events.
The Mayor of Harrow councillor Ramji Chauhan, together with other councillors and local groups that use HAC, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 19.
Councillor Jean Lammiman, portfolio holder for community and culture, said: “I know how much our residents love and value the arts centre. In seeing the new building and refurbished facilities, I am extremely pleased with what has been delivered.”
The building is fully electric and energy efficient, with 65 solar panels and eight air-source heat pumps installed across the site.
Matthew Wright, HAC programme and marketing manager, said: “We take immense pleasure in formally opening our new Greenhill facility.
“With these modern studios, we aspire to foster creative activity and play a crucial role in enhancing the accessibility of arts and culture for everyone.”
The Boiler Room at HAC has also recently been refurbished, which led to the launch of a new fringe festival, Boiler House Festival 2023.
The festival included productions of It Takes 2 to Tango and Good Women, which were a huge success in August. The final show, We’re Alive, will be performed on Friday, September 1. Buy tickets at harrowarts.com/boiler-house-festival-2023
