A school which welcomes students from Amersham were overwhelmed when the community stepped up to provide laptop donations.
Waterside Primary Academy in Chesham signed up to the BBC’s ‘Donate a Laptop’ scheme and within the first 24 hours received more than 20 working laptops and tablets to help with online learning.
The generosity didn’t stop there however, as the school also received donations from local charities and individuals from the community which allowed them to purchase more devices for online lessons.
Deputy headteacher, Miss Coleen Duggan said that they were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community.
She said: “I can’t believe the generosity of our local community who have moved mountains to ensure that our children continue to learn.
“Every class from Nursery to Year 6 are now able to access all three of their daily lessons and we have full attendance across the school.
“This is a massive achievement and one that we could not have achieved without the support of our school and local community.”
