Residents have shared concerns about the street furniture outside Croxley Green Library.
With more and more events including Diwali celebrations and Christmas carols taking place outside, the need for more open and accessible community spaces has been highlighted.
Though home to lots of festivities, “disrepair and poor lighting” have allegedly made the area outside the library hazardous at night.
In response, councillor Cheryl Stungo has been in discussion with officers about improvements.
This could include moving the black cycle racks closer to the library wall on Barton Way or along New Road, while ensuring visibility for pedestrians.
The silver wheel racks could also be relocated and potentially replaced with heritage-style racks to match the ones along the parade.
Additionally, there are also plans to reposition the bench nearer the wall.
Cllr Stungo said: “It’s essential that this space is both safe and functional for residents, especially during community events. We need a well-lit, welcoming environment that encourages people to enjoy this important hub.”
