Huel Tring Rugby have shown that they are not just about sport, through their support of several local charities.
The club have supported a variety of local charities, projects and causes over the years, including suicide prevention charity Hector’s House and Macmillan Cancer Support. Now, the club has offered its help to The Pepper Foundation, which raises funds for children’s hospice at home nursing care.
Members of the club donated a variety of presents, which were gratefully accepted by Kelly from the foundation in December.
A spokesperson for the club said: “For a number of families, this time of year can be hard, with many struggling through all sorts of challenges.
“With this in mind, senior player Tom Byard coordinated the Huel Tring Rugby Senior squad to support a local charity called The Pepper Foundation.
“Kelly from the foundation visited Cow Lane to collect the presents donated by the club, which will go to the children’s hospice. Kelly is also mum to one of our injured U14s [Monty] and a great supporter of the club.
“Thumbs up to Monty too, hopefully on the mend! Thank you all, it makes a huge difference.”
A spokesperson for The Pepper Foundation said: “These wonderful people have made sure that children get some exciting gifts this year, and there will be lots of smiles and happy faces all round! Thank you so much!”
