THE HOOPS: Young Hillingdon Hospital patients enjoy visit from football players

Children on the Bumblebee Ward at Hillingdon Hospital enjoyed a special visit from Queens Park Rangers (QPR) this Christmas.

On Thursday, December 19, the players came to the ward laden with toys, games, gifts and QPR merchandise for the young patients.

Together with team mascots, the Hoops players accompanied staff on a tour of the Bumblebee Ward to greet children and their families, as well as presenting them with a little something to make their stay more enjoyable.

The remaining gifts were distributed across the hospital’s children’s wards and given to children throughout the festive season.

A spokesperson for the hospital took to their Facebook page to thank the club.

Their post reads: “It’s not every day a Championship football club comes to visit, but it is every Christmas.

“QPR never let the children down, and this Christmas was no exception. Manager Martí Cifuentes brought with him children’s favourites Jack Colback and Harrison Ashby.

“They also brought a football pitch worth of toys and games for Bumblebee Ward which will last them well into next year.”
