Local karting sensation Ethan Lloyd, a student at Christ Church Chorleywood C of E School, has clinched the prestigious National Kart Championship title after a thrilling final at Whilton Mill kart track.
The first race presented a challenge as a jumped start pushed Ethan back to fourth. However, he meticulously worked his way through the field, executing perfect overtakes to regain the lead and secure a maiden win. From that point on, Ethan led the subsequent heats from start to finish.
The final race was a test of nerve. When the lights went green, Ethan surged ahead, setting consistently fast laps and creating a significant gap. He crossed the finish line with a mix of joy and relief, not only winning the race but also the overall championship.
This victory is the culmination of a year of tireless dedication for Ethan and his family. Early morning alarms, long drives across the country, and overcoming frustrations have all paid off.
Looking ahead, Ethan will be moving up a class to Rotax Intermax next year.
