A team from Pinner Cricket Club (PCC) have stormed to victory with their fourth league win in a row.
PCC’s 1st XI, who play in Division 5B, overcame a variety of challenges throughout this year in order to secure the win.
Chivan Patel, the club’s social media secretary, told Pinnernews: “This year was more challenging than previous years due to availability, weather, and the higher level of cricket being played. But ultimately, we still came through.”
With just one game of the season left as Pinnernews goes to print, the club are already turning their sights to next year.
Asked whether they are hoping to make it five wins in a row, Chivan replied: “Definitely. I don’t see why we can’t do it again next year!”
It’s not all about winning for PCC, as the club pride themselves on offering family-friendly cricket for all ages. Generations of cricketers play together, with youngsters able to gain in confidence thanks to various teams offering play at all levels.
Chivan explained: “The club’s doing very well, especially our junior teams. Representation of young people is very important to us at Pinner and we have a very diverse crowd. We’re also one of the only clubs in the area that has a men’s team with women playing in it as well.
“The club really highlights what is great about our local area.”
