A charity has thanked the community after they were alerted when a fox became trapped in their shop in Pinner.
The Sue Ryder shop in Barters Walk was closed for refurbishment when the fox got in and ran riot around the store.
Residents noticed the fox and alerted Sue Ryder as well as the RSPCA.
However, a sign was put up on the shop window on Saturday, August 9, claiming that neither Sue Ryder nor the RSPCA were taking adequate action.
Animal rescue charity Moonstone Rescue attended and claimed the fox had been stuck in the shop for up to a week.
They said: “This matter should not have gone unnoticed and access should have been given.”
A statement from Sue Ryder said: “We are pleased to share that the fox left the shop on Saturday evening. Thank you to those members of the local community who brought the issue to our attention and offered their help and support.”
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “We receive around a million calls every year. We wish we could respond to them all but we just don’t have the resources.”
