An Amersham woman who recently appeared on TV talking up the town as a “lovely area to be in” was left reeling after her car was stolen last month.
Susie Wallace runs the Angelic Cake Company stall at the town’s Tuesday markets. She recently appeared on BBC’s Escape to the Country, speaking to a couple who were interested in moving to the Chilterns.
Susie jovially referred to her on-screen appearance as a “bit of cringeworthy five seconds of fame”, and said she hopes it “won’t go to my head”.
Aired on April 22, the episode was shown just days after Susie had her car stolen – with her market equipment still inside.
Posting on Facebook, Susie shared an image of some of her equipment that had been abandoned by the thieves.
She said: “A very kind person found these bits dumped in East London by the scum who stole the car. At least I’ve got my board back.
“As furious/frustrated/upset we are about this, I am just grateful that we’re okay. At least there were no cakes in the car!”
