Dozens of police cars and the police helicopter swarmed an area in Hemel Hempstead to numerous reports of a ‘loud bang’.
At around 11pm last night (July 24), officers investigated, and nothing was found to what made the noise.
Residents in the area went to Facebook to discuss the commotion.
One commented: “What the hell was that massive bang just now by Leverstock green? It made the whole house shake.”
Another user said: “Fire engine and police are at the back of Maylands, can only see their lights, can’t see smoke or anything but to dark.”
A user added: “Apparently there was a loud bang and lots of smoke near end of industrial estate last night. Helicopters, police, fire etc attended but no one ever explained what it was about.”
A spokesperson for Herts Police said: “We received multiple calls shortly before 11pm yesterday, to report a loud bang had been heard in Hemel Hempstead.
“Officers carried out a search of the area to try and establish the cause, with assistance from the police helicopter, however nothing was found.”
