The family and friends of Matt Allcock were presented with the minibus which is in Matt’s name.
Matt, who was the sponsor and number one fan of Kings Langley Football Club, sadly passed away in January after KLFC’s away match at Weymouth.
In response to his death, fan and friend of the club, Greg Lee, was influential in organising a fundraising match to raise funds for a minibus in Matt’s name.
The match, which took place in May, raised the funds needed for the memorial and the minibus was revealed to the friends, family, players and staff in July.
The club revealed the news on Facebook and thanked everyone who contributed.
A spokesperson for the club said: “We are pleased to announce that, following on from our Matty Allcock fundraiser in May this year, fans, friends and family managed to reach targets set and the club have been able to purchase a minibus for players, fans and youth teams to use. This is now branded and ready to hit the road.
“Our sincerest thanks go to all of those who contributed to the event, both for your financial and practical support. Big thanks to our great fan and friend, Greg Lee, who made the whole thing happen, from concept to driving the finished van to the ground. Thanks to Utopia signs in Apsley, for donating the signage and Japex garage for keeping us roadworthy.
“Here’s too many successful journeys as a club in the future. Thinking of you Matty.”
