Chorleywood charity Mission EmployAble is celebrating a year of success following the opening of their Café on the Common.
The charity, which supports adults with learning disabilities to find employment opportunities, held an event on January 16 to mark the first anniversary of its opening.
The café, which is staffed by the charity’s young interns, was built in conjunction with Chorleywood Cricket Club and also acts as their clubhouse.
According to Mission EmployAble, in the last year it has served more than 24,000 hot drinks, 7,000 slices of cake, 456 breakfast sandwiches, and much more.
Katharine Weston, chair of trustees for Mission EmployAble, said: “A big thank you to our amazing customers, whose support, friendship and laughter have been the icing on the cake of a wonderful year!
“I also thank all of the fundraisers and supporters, including the parish council, who have worked together with us to make Café on the Common a success.”
