Dacorum Community Trust (DCT) has been honoured with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
The award is the highest accolade given to volunteer groups working in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.
Recognising the exceptional work done by volunteer groups in their communities, only 281 charities, youth groups, and museums across the UK have received the award this year.
DCT is a small, independent charity committed to serving the people of Dacorum. The trust provides vital household support such as energy and supermarket vouchers, as well as essential household items for local people in financial crisis.
The dedicated team also provides a signposting and referral service to partner agencies within the wider community.
DCT manager Dena Tyler MBE said: “We are very proud of this award. It is validation of the trust and reputation that we have built within the community of Dacorum.
“The award would not have been possible without our wonderful, passionate team and our incredible group of volunteers.”
