A reshuffle has taken place for the Liberal Democrats’ prospective candidates in the Northwood and Ruislip areas.
Ian Rex-Hawkes, who was previously the candidate for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, will instead be standing for the Uxbridge and South Ruislip seat, after the candidate for this area moved elsewhere.
It was the Uxbridge and South Ruislip seat that saw the Conservatives win in a hotly contested by-election last year, following the resignation of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson as MP.
As a result of this change, Northwood resident Jonathan Banks has volunteered to stand for the Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner seat, having been a candidate in the previous election.
Speaking about the reshuffle on his blog, Mr Rex-Hawkes said: “As I had already been doing a lot of campaigning in Uxbridge with Blaise and as I felt that Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner would be left in very capable hands, I was more than happy to move my candidacy to Uxbridge and South Ruislip.”
