William Penn Leisure Centre in Rickmansworth is getting a £500,000 makeover.
The works commenced at the beginning of December and will include the installation of state-of-the-art equipment and modern amenities.
The gym layout will be reconfigured and there will be a broader range of strength training options. The cardio section will be completely revamped and a relaxation zone will be introduced.
The improvements also include new contemporary décor, modern lighting and upgraded flooring.
Councillor Chris Lloyd, Three Rivers District Council’s lead member for leisure, said: “Supporting our residents’ health is key, and that is why I am delighted to see even more investment into William Penn Leisure Centre, which will continue to help our residents be happy, fit and healthy.”
There will be a 12-day closure between December 9 and 21 to complete the gym refurbishment. The rest of the facility is unaffected.
