INTERGENERATIONAL: Croxley students join care home residents for gardening session

Published on: 16th March 2024   |   By: Sophia Sheera   |   Category: Uncategorized

As part of Feeling Good Week 2024, a dozen students from Croxley Danes School joined residents at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home for a day of intergenerational activities.

Teachers Miss Bhalla and Mrs Richards were delighted to witness the “exemplary behaviour” of the students, who are all leaders of the school’s Wellbeing and Equalities Teams, at the event on Tuesday, February 6.

Students and residents had the chance to share stories whilst planting herbs and flowers together.

Chorleywood Beaumont’s activities coordinator Jaime Gilbank said: “I’m so pleased it went well.

“When the residents realised young people were coming to the care home, they all wanted to join the gardening session!”

Mrs Cox, assistant headteacher at Croxley Danes, said: “It was wonderful to see the range of different activities going on to promote Feeling Good Week.

“I’m particularly proud of the new links that have been formed with the wider community and the contribution our students have made to the wellbeing of others.”
