A Garston schoolboy has won the gold medal in a French badminton tournament.
Vihaan Nair, 12, represented England in the Babolat French Borders Tournament in January, where he won first place in the boys’ double event.
The Parmiter’s School student was one of three U13 badminton players who participated as part of the England team.
His mother, Resmi, told GARSTONnews: “Seeing Vihaan win gold is an incredibly proud moment for us. His journey from playing badminton for fun during lockdown to competing internationally has been nothing short of inspiring.
“His dedication, resilience and passion for the sport continue to amaze us. This achievement is a testament to his hard work, and we couldn’t be prouder of the young athlete – and person – he is becoming.”
