HORROR CRASH: Police appeal for witness after St Albans multi-vehicle collision

Published on: 5th April 2024   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a multi-vehicle road traffic collision in St Albans.

The incident happened around 3.10pm yesterday, Thursday, April 4, on Hatfield Road.

It is reported that a green single-decker bus was travelling east towards Hatfield before, for reasons currently unknown, it was involved in a collision.

The bus then came to rest after striking a wall and the driver, a man aged in his sixties, was taken to hospital where he continues to recover from his injuries.

Sergeant Matthew O’Neill, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries continue as we work to establish the full circumstances around this collision.

“If you were driving in the area at the time and have a dash cam fitted, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage. Additionally, if you saw what happened, you can email me at matthew.o’neill@herts.police.uk.

“We are particularly keen to hear from any passengers who were travelling on the bus and left the scene before police arrived, as they may have important information to help progress our investigation.”

You can also report information online, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 430 of 4 April, 2024.

Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form.
