It was a tale of what might have been for Chalfont St Peter AFC this afternoon as Finlay Johnson’s men suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Marlow Town at Mill Meadow.
The visitors raced into a 2-0 lead after 36 minutes but the Saints were guilty of spurning several chances before Curtis Ujah sealed the win with the third goal on 70 minutes. Dara Dada scored a consolation after 92 minutes.
A tweet from the club’s official account summed up the mood.
It read: “A frustrating way to end the year. Not in it in the first half but if either of the one on ones is taken it’s a different game.”
Chalfont now travel to Chipstead on January 4
