Residents, workers and business owners in Northwood and Ruislip are now able to have their say on the draft strategy Hillingdon Borough Council (HBC) have put forward for the next four years.
Leader of the council, councillor Ian Edwards said: “The draft strategy builds on the successes of the council to date and sets out a vision, ambition statements for residents and the council, and various commitments to residents about what the council will do during the coming years.
“It will provide an overarching framework for council policy, business planning and performance management, and the council’s approach of strong leadership, sound financial management and transforming how we work will sustain our high-quality services and facilities for residents.”
The draft intends to focus on five main commitments for the borough. This includes making sure Hillingdon is safe place to live with affordable housing, making sure families in the area are living healthy lives, making the area sustainable and carbon-neutral, a strong local economy and making sure the council is well-run.
To take a look at the plans and have your say, visit the council’s dedicated web page at www.hillingdon.gov.uk/council-strategy before the consultation phase closes on Friday, September 9.
After the consultation, the strategy will be considered by several select committees before the cabinet considers all the feedback and the final draft in October. The strategy will then be presented to the full council for adoption in November.
