Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC) has put forward plans to continue raising awareness of all forms of hate incidents and crime across Bushey, as part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week.
From Saturday, October 12 to Saturday, October 19, HBC held a webinar and took to social media to show support for victims of hate crime.
In partnership with SAFE by CST, a charity that aims to protect British Jews from antisemitism and related threats, HBC wants residents to continue to feel supported and safe in the community.
Councillor Chris Gray, portfolio holder for communities and neighbourhoods, said: “Hertsmere has a proud history as a welcoming and inclusive borough that celebrates diversity.
“However, hate crime is a very real issue for many in our community and can cause significant harm to its victims. If you have been a victim of hate crime – don’t suffer in silence. You can help become a part of this movement to tackle hate in Hertsmere and to help bring those who commit hate crimes to justice.”
