Two incidents within quick succession yesterday evening (Tuesday, October 29) caused heavy traffic in the local area.
Police were alerted to a three-vehicle road traffic collision involving a blue BMW 520D, a blue Ford Fiesta and a grey Hyundai IX35 on Bunkers Lane, Hemel Hempstead, at around 8.04pm.
Officers attended the scene along with colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Two people were taken to hospital, including a man in his 80s with suspected serious injuries.
The road was closed while emergency services responded to the collision, and the closures were lifted at around 1am this morning (Wednesday, October 30).
Police were also called to a road traffic collision occurring on Nash Mills Lane, outside the Red Lion Pub in Kings Langley, at around 8.20pm on Tuesday, October 29.
The road traffic collision involved two cars, a silver Honda Civic and a green Nissan Tekna.
The East of England Ambulance Service also attended the scene, and four people suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Road closures were temporarily put in place and were lifted at around 10.15pm.
