A footpath readily used by Northwood residents has been restored as part of a wider community project to save Northwood Recreation Ground.

The footpath which runs between Haste Hill Golf Club and Northwood Recreation Ground was restored as part of a team effort from Hillingdon Council and Friends of Northwood Recreation Ground.

The latter which was set up in a bid to save the grounds which were often struck by flooding and left in a swamp like state are happy to be working with the council on a number of projects.

Ben Rawson-Jones who started the group said the group are delighted to see the path restored.

He said: “The historic Jubilee Walk between Haste Hill Golf Club and Northwood Recreation Ground has been restored and is walkable again.

“Wonderful to work with Hillingdon Council on this for the Friends of Northwood Recreation Group.”

The next working party dates for the Friends of Northwood Recreation Ground are:

  • Saturday, October 9, 10am-1pm
  • Thursday, October 21, 10am-1pm

The group will be meeting in the park near the Highland Rd entrance for 10am.
