A Pinner golf club has started the new year with an ambitious tree planting programme.
Grim’s Dyke Golf Club has planted more than 200 saplings, including 75 silver birch, 50 field maple, 50 hazel, 25 hornbeam and 25 cherry trees.
All the trees are on the Hertfordshire side of the course and the project is part of Hertfordshire County Council’s (HCC) Your Tree Our Future Programme, with support from Three Rivers District Council.
General manager Colin Park told Pinnernews: “I would like to say a huge thank you to HCC and all the team involved with the programme.
“The planting of more than 200 trees has created a real buzz and community feel at the club, with volunteers of all ages coming together to make positive changes to the local environment. We are sure that golfers and members of the public, who use the footpaths through the course, will appreciate these wonderful new additions.
“It has been a delight to work with everyone at the council throughout the process and we hope to work together again on future projects.”
