Published on: 2nd December 2022   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Two vehicles were destroyed in a suspected arson attack in Hemel Hempstead.

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service called the police at 10pm to an address on Roughdown Avenue on Thursday, November 3.

The incident is being treated as arson and an investigation has been launched.

Detective Sergeant John Prendergast, from the Hemel Hempstead Local Crime Unit, said: “Thankfully, no one was injured, but this reckless behaviour could have had a very different outcome.

“Two offenders were seen in dark clothing setting the vehicles alight, with no known reason for them to be targeted, so it is obviously quite a concerning incident.

“I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to make contact with us. Were you in the area? Did you see something unusual? If you have any suspicions at all, please come forward as it could be vital to our investigation.

“If you were driving in the area and have a dashcam fitted to your vehicle, please check it and get in touch if you spot something suspicious.”
