A local park has been given the prestigious Green Flag Award for the 12th consecutive year.
Tring Memorial Gardens has held Green Flag status since 2012. The scheme recognises the best green spaces in the country and rewards excellent standards of park management.
Originally created to commemorate those lost during the Second World War, the green space is much loved by many and has been named as one of Hertfordshire’s best ‘secret’ gardens.
It is no surprise that the park was awarded thanks to its well-stocked fishpond with an ornamental fountain, beautifully planted borders and a spring bulb display.
Councillor Robin Bromham, portfolio holder for neighbourhood operations, said: “The recognition of our parks and green spaces with the Green Flag Awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.
“Their efforts ensure that both residents and visitors can enjoy these beautiful areas. The awards highlight the importance of maintaining high standards in our parks, which play a crucial role in community wellbeing and supporting our local biodiversity.”
