A Muay Thai fighter from Croxley says she is “more determined than ever” as she looks to bounce back from defeat.
Ellie Harber took on Mia Skeer for the WMO European bantamweight title in Liverpool on Saturday, August 2, but lost out in a fight that was evenly contested.
Following the fight, Ellie was in reflective mood as she thanked those who had helped her to prepare, including her parents who she described as her “biggest supporters”.
Posting on social media after the fight, Ellie said: “I still can’t quite find the words to describe how heartbroken I am.
“I put my all into this and I didn’t quite get the rewards from it but I know that my time will come. I am more determined than ever to get to the top.
“I think we can say Mia Skeer and I showed how great female Muay Thai is in the UK.
“I also want to thank everyone who came and supported me; the atmosphere was electric.
“A trip away to Australia for me now to reset and then straight back to it. I’m not finished yet. I am determined to be the best and I will get there.”
Ellie has previously won the Young Sporting Achiever and Sporting Achiever awards at the mylocalHero awards, hosted by CROXLEYnews.
