Berkhamsted FC put in yet another magnificent display of football yesterday afternoon (October 12) in a five goal thriller against Herne Bay FC in the FA Trophy.
Lewis Toomey opened the scoring on 17 minutes, which was the goal scoring machine’s 14th of the season so far.
Daniel Akumbine quickly followed that up with The Comrades second, and Toomey made it 3-0 on the half-hour mark.
The second half saw Berkhamsted get off to a strong start as Saul Williams made it 4-0 in just two minutes from kick-off.
The prolific Toomey got his hattrick in the last minute of the game. That’s his third hattrick in four games for The Comrades.
Fan Mike Lacey tweeted: ” Top performance. Lewis Toomey on fire with 3rd hat-trick and up to 16 for the season. JJ bagged his tenth, with 3 assists today. Brilliant to see Saul on the scoresheet too. Yet another clean sheet for the defence and strong overall team performance. Keep it up The Crusaders.”
