A charismatic delivery driver for Radlett and Shenley has given his thanks to the community after their positive write-ups led to him getting plenty of praise at work.
Dwayne Crew, a delivery driver for DPD, has seemingly become a living legend around these parts as Radlett and Shenley Facebook forums have constantly commended him for his punctual deliveries and infectiously positive attitude.
His local fan base has now been acknowledged by DPD, who presented the Shoreditch resident with a bottle of champagne on Thursday, October 10.
Dwayne, 39, told RadlettNews: “I really want to thank everyone who’s been so kind about me. I’ve been doing deliveries here for three years now and I really enjoy seeing all the people I deal with.
“To be honest, I don’t make too much of an effort to make an impact, I’m a bit of a personality I suppose, and I smile a lot and stay well mannered. I’m a bit of a ‘people’s person’ naturally.
“It feels amazing to be recognised for the work I’m putting in and my goal now is just to keep giving the community good service and keep on smiling.”
Dwayne, who was previously a painter and decorator, also received some kind words from DPD.
Simon Reilly, operations manager at DPD’s Dunstable depot commented: “Dwayne is a top delivery driver and we regularly get his customers telling us what a star he is. We know he goes ‘above and beyond’ for them, but it still means a lot when customers give such great feedback.
“Customers do get to know their DPD driver as the parcel notifications include the driver’s name and they can track them as they make their way to their property. We know that people really appreciate what the guys like Dwayne do day in, day out and it is fantastic to know how much they are valued.”
