Huel Tring Rugby is preparing for the upcoming season and hoping to strengthen its youth team.
Pre-season is in full swing at Huel Tring Rugby with the seniors being put through their paces on Pitstone Hill with a series of gruelling hill sprints, with weights, and the Juniors back to some light Wednesday evening fitness and ball handling.
The club is keen for more local girls and boys to take up, or restart, their rugby journey. Training takes place on Sunday mornings for all youth age groups and starts on September 8 at 9am for the Minis (those under 12) and 10.30am for the Juniors (under 13s and above).
Throughout September there will be free sessions, try before you buy, for all the age groups and the girls’ section.
The club said: “We love it when new children turn up for the first time to kick off their young rugby careers. We have qualified and DBS checked coaches and loads of friendly teammates and parents to welcome them.
“Rugby is great for developing strength, fitness and skills but the discipline and respect side of the game is crucial. Our girls’ section was particularly successful last season so some new faces in that section would be fantastic.”
