The Friends of Bushey Rose Garden have funded the installation of a new defibrillator on the site.
On Tuesday, May 6, Hertsmere Borough Council shared a photo of the new medical aid, saying: “We are proud to announce that a new defibrillator has been installed in Bushey Rose Garden. This vital resource was generously funded by the Friends of Bushey Rose Garden.”
The group first began working alongside AED Donate to install a defibrillator in September 2024.
There are more than 30,000 cardiac arrests in the UK each year. A defibrillator passes a brief electrical current through the heart and, if used within three to five minutes of a cardiac arrest, can increase a patient’s survival by 50 to 70 per cent.
The new device is registered on The Circuit, the national defibrillator network, and will be available for use from 7am to 7pm.
