A fundraiser has almost reached its £2,000 target to help an Abbots Langley family displaced from their home following a fire.
At 4.15pm on Friday, April 18, the Herts Fire and Rescue Service attended a blaze in Deans Close. Fortunately, there were no injuries and the fire service believe the cause to be accidental.
The fundraiser set up to help the affected family has raised £1,950 at the time of writing.
It reads: “I’m reaching out to ask for your help. A local family recently lost their home in a devastating fire. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but they lost nearly everything – their home, clothes, and cherished belongings.
“They’re facing a long road ahead, and we want to rally around them and show that they’re not alone. Any amount you can give – big or small – will make a difference as they work to rebuild their lives.”
The fire service sent six fire engines to the blaze, which included a property and an outbuilding. Police and ambulance crews also attended.
