Watford FC won’t be featuring again until at least April 3 after the Premier League have announced all fixtures are suspended due to the recent spread of coronavirus.
This is after Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi have tested positive for the virus.
Hornets’ manager Nigel Pearson cancelled training yesterday (March 12) after several members of his squad felt unwell this week.
Watford were due to face Leicester City on Saturday, March 14, and Pearson stressed the important of public health in his pre-match press conference, he said: “It’s not an easy situation to be involved in. We don’t have anybody with a positive result, but I think in the current climate it’s inevitable we will have contact with someone who either has the virus or who has recovered from it.
“In the meantime, we will continue to be vigilant and do what is the right thing for the well-being of everyone who works for this football club.”
