The young players at Bushey & Oxhey FC are proving they are only just getting the ball rolling on their sporting success.
BUSHEYnews caught up with the club to see how they have been getting on this season.
Chair of the club Mark Brett said: “We have 27 teams this season, ranging from U7 to U18s, and the club continues to grow in terms of team and players.
“Our U18 Hornets won Division 3 and also reached a Cup Final, their first-ever trophy success!”
On Monday, May 5, the club’s annual tournament brought together 92 teams at Queens’ School. The event raised money in memory of Zach Barnes, an U13 player who sadly passed away last year. Proceeds will go to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
A number of teams, including U12 Falcons, Lynxes and Leopards, U13 Hawks, U14 Pumas and U18 Hornets, won various leagues, with multiple other teams reaching finals.
Mark shared: “There is a real family feel to the club. We encourage all of our players to be respectful and proud of the local area. Being connected to Bushey & Oxhey FC means you are part of that community.”
