FLYING IN: Chiswell Green teen rides helicopter to summer prom

Horse and chariot? A limousine? A flock of doves flying overhead? The award for most spectacular entrance to a prom is a fiercely contested one, but Graham Hall might have just claimed the trophy by riding a helicopter to his.

A student of Marlborough Science Academy, Graham, 15, lived his dream as his father arranged for a surprise helicopter trip to his prom.

Graham Hall Senior said: “Graham has always wanted to ride in a helicopter.

“Just to see Graham’s face – it lit up; he had no idea it was happening. It was just nice for the kid, if you can treat them to one special thing in life, the that’s good. Gives them something to aspire to.

“A friend of mine was able to sort it out with the company Helicopter Services, based in Maidenhead. They took him for a little spin round, flew over Shendish Manor. Everyone, all his friends, were waiting for him when he landed.

“He absolutely loved it, it was really special for him, he was over the moon.”

Graham is now waiting for his GCSE results and is due to study Architecture and Design in West Herts College in the next academic year.
