EXCITING: Watford Fireworks Spectacular returns to Cassiobury Park

Published on: 19th October 2021   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Watford Borough Council is pleased to announce that the town’s free annual fireworks spectacular will be returning to Cassiobury Park this year.

The fireworks display on November 6 is the largest in Hertfordshire and one of Watford’s most well attended events.

The event which normally takes places every year but was cancelled last year due to COVID-19, will be supported by Watford community radio station Vibe 107.6FM, who compère the stage.

Entertainment will start at 6pm, with live performances from music act Katie Plus Juan.

The 20-minute firework display will be starting at 7.30pm and there will be a variety of food and drink outlets, children’s funfair rides and bungee trampolines.

Volunteers from the Lions Club of Watford and Rotary Club of Watford will be there on the night collecting on behalf of local charities and people are asked to give generously.

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “Fireworks night is one of the town’s most popular community events. It is loved by many residents and visitors, with the display being one of the most spectacular in Hertfordshire. I realise many people were disappointed not to attend last year, but I’m delighted it’s back and I’m especially pleased that this year we will be raising funds for several charities through the Covid Community Grant Fund. I look forward to seeing many of you there and ask that you donate what you can to our charity fund.”

Preparations for the event will be a bit different this year, with a more cautious approach to provide a COVID-safe event.

Attendees are also being encouraged to; arrive in plenty of time to avoid congestion in the park, take a rapid COVID-19 test the day before the event, stay at home if they have any symptoms and wear a face covering if they are in close proximity with people they don’t normally meet with.

There will be no parking in the Gade Avenue car park from 3pm on Saturday November 6, apart from a limited number of blue badge spaces and these will be available on a first come first served basis.

There are also parking restrictions on nearby roads from 7am to 11pm.

To keep everyone safe, visitors will not be allowed to bring sparklers, fireworks or alcohol into the park. For more information, please visit watfordbigevents.co.uk
