DRUGS BUST: Four arrested during drugs warrant in Watford

Four people, including two teenagers, were arrested on suspicion of drug offences after a warrant was carried out in Watford.

Officers from the Operational Support Group and Watford’s Operation Scorpion team forced entry to an address in Wilmington Close at 8am yesterday (Monday, August 14).

They entered the address under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, where they recovered 18 wraps of suspected crack cocaine and 13 wraps of suspected heroin.

A 65-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug (class A). He has been released on conditional bail until 9 November.

A 42-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug (class A). He has been released on conditional bail until 9 November.

A 14-year-old male from Edgware, London, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He has been released on conditional bail until 9 November.

A 17-year-old male, also from Edgware, London, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He has been released on conditional bail until 10 November.

On the same day, officers also carried out a drugs warrant at a property in Humberstone Close, Watford, where they recovered a quantity of suspected cannabis, cash, and drugs paraphernalia. Inquiries are continuing.

Watford’s Chief Inspector Andy Wiseman said: “These operations are an excellent example of the vital disruption work that’s always happening under the radar to tackle drug supply in our town.

“We are serious about stopping drugs from getting onto the streets of Watford and we will do everything we can to stop it, from warrants and patrols to working with partner agencies.”
