Watford Swimming Club (WSC) celebrated a milestone Arena League campaign, finishing 6th overall and achieving the highest rank among clubs with larger membership numbers.
In the finals on Saturday, December 14, highlights included Raffy smashing through the 1:00 barrier for the first time in the 100m backstroke, and Kate Hopper delivering three personal bests to cement her status as one of the team’s role models. Abby Lai also dazzled with a fantastic 50m freestyle.
WSC welcomed debuts from Hattie, Jasmine, Seanna, Lewis and Lily.
An incredible 33 per cent of WSC’s swimmers participated across the Arena League campaign. Watford achieved their best-ever Premier Division round finish with a third place in Round Two, and for the first time, they defeated Hertfordshire rivals Hatfield, marking a historic breakthrough for WSC.
A spokesperson for WSC said: “This season’s campaign was a testament to Watford’s development and the unwavering spirit of its swimmers. The Arena League results highlight the dedication, teamwork, and talent that continue to drive the club forward!”
