CUP EXIT: Berkhamsted’s FA Cup run ends against St Ives

Published on: 8th September 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Berkhamsted F.C

Berkhamsted are out of the FA Cup First Round Qualifying following a 2-1 defeat to Cambridgeshire side St Ives Town.

St Ives took the lead in the 32nd minutes from a corner which connected with Charlie De’ath’s head and went straight into the bottom left corner.

The Comrades were able to bounce back quickly thanks to Martley Hamilton scoring is first goal on his debut appearance.

He tweeted: “Gutted to be knocked out off the @EmiratesFACup to @stivestownfc I felt we deserved to win or a replay.”

“Bad decisions don’t help from the ref either, also I’m very happy to score my 1st goal for @BerkoFC on my debut.”

A controversial 56th minute penalty to St Ives was powerfully buried away by Ben Seymour-Shove and was enough to see the away side progress into the next round.
