We all know that feeling when you open a tub of chocolates, but to your absolute horror you realise that what is contained within is not confectionary but a sewing kit…
Now, Greene King Pubs are running a scheme that will ensure this tragedy never happens again. The Tub2Pub initiative takes empty Christmas chocolate boxes such as Roses, Heroes, Celebrations and Quality Street and recycles them, while also raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Local residents can drop off their unwanted Christmas tubs to The Middlesex Arms in Ruislip.
Over the past year, The Middlesex Arms has raised a total of £3,700 for Macmillan Cancer Support through various events and initiatives, including the Tub2Pub scheme as well as karaoke nights and quiz nights.
The scheme is running until Sunday, February 16.
