Kings Langley Players (KLP) are living up to their motto “always a good show” with a special performance to mark their centenary year.
An Evening at the Music Hall was the idea of member Mickey Goan, and will showcase the fun, flair, and community that have defined KLP for the past 100 years.
On Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, the group will be taking to the stage at Kings Langley Services Club to entertain viewers with a range of acts, from Jimmy James sketches to duets and monologues.
Described as an old-fashioned variety show, KLP will be showing off their “fun, vibrant side” with an impressive mix of acts.
Andrew Knight is chair of KLP and director and producer of the upcoming show. He caught up with KINGSnews to chat about how the performance celebrates the unique family that the Players have become.
He said: “We want the show to demonstrate the skills and versatility of the group and the enthusiasm we have. We have been going for 100 years, and it feels like we are our own community.”
As the year goes on, the group are continuing the celebrations with even more remarkable performances, including A Christmas Carol taking place from Thursday, December 11, to Saturday, December 13. There is also Murder at the Distillery on Friday, October 17.
KLP are always looking for new members to join. Visit www.klp.org.uk to find out more.
