A man has broken the Guinness World Record for the World’s Longest Golf Marathon after playing golf for 32 hours straight.

Isaac Rowlands, assistant golf pro at The Grove in Watford, travelled to Norway’s Lofoten Links to complete the challenge under the “midnight sun” on Tuesday, May 27. At the time of writing, he has raised over £6,480 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The attempt was inspired by his own experience with cancer as a teenager.

Speaking about his marathon attempt, Isaac said: “It was both exhausting and exhilarating. Playing a course as incredible as Lofoten Links was a true privilege. I have seen for myself the amazing work Macmillan does for people, and I want to raise awareness of their care and dedication.”

His challenge involved 182 holes, 35 lost balls, 53 miles on foot, and 118,000 steps.

A spokesperson for The Grove added: “A huge congratulations to Isaac for this brilliant achievement, and thank you to everyone who supported his journey so far.”
