The Radlett community have come together to raise more than £2,500 for a single mum-of-two who has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Caroline Brenson, mother to Jack, 17, and Tilly, 13, has been fighting cancer since she was diagnosed in 2018 with astonishing bravery and good humour.
After a first round of gruelling chemotherapy, she fought her way through it, only to receive the cruel news that the cancer had returned for a third time, leading to more treatment and another major surgery.
One of Caroline’s friends, Heather Walmsley, set up the JustGiving page and it quickly received attention, raising more than £300 on the first day.
Heather said: “We have fundraised previously with an afternoon tea event and another fundraising page was able to help them go on their first family holiday abroad in Croatia a couple of years ago, creating lovely memories and so much-needed respite.
“We will be doing further fundraising as soon as restrictions are lifted and will need your help with ideas and support. I have put a target of £6,000, but of course, the more we can raise the better.”
